YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED
OR WHERE ANY THING IS FOR THAT MATTER
You do not know where you are.
In fact you do not know where you or anyone else or any thing in the World actually is.
You can only know where you are located in comparison to where some thing else is located. That is to say, you can only know how far and in what direction you are from some other physical thing; but you cannot know where in the World you actually are. Of course knowing where you are in comparison to other things is good for your practical purposes. Nonetheless, as a matter of fact you do not know where you are.
One reason that is so is because although you are probably unaware of it, you are always moving in four different ways, in four different directions, to different places, at four different speeds, all at the same time.
In the first place, remember that you are moving from one place to another at approximately 1,000 miles an hour with the Earth as it rotates on its axis.
Then, keep in mind that at the same time as that rotation takes place, you are also moving from one place to another at approximately 76,000 miles an hour on the Earth as it orbits around the Sun.
And at the same time that you are moving both with the Earth’s rotation and with the Earth as it orbits around the Sun, you are also moving at approximately 500,000 miles an hour with our Solar System (made up of the Earth, its Sun and the other planets that go around our Sun) as our entire Solar System orbits around the center of our Galaxy which we call the Milky Way.
And that is not all. While all of those motions are taking place (that is, while you are moving with the Earth’s rotation, and with the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, and with the Solar System as it orbits around the center of the Milky Way,) you are also moving at approximately One Million (1,000,000) miles an hour with the entire Milky Way as it moves out into deep space as the Universe expands.
You may not feel any of that motion, but you are in fact moving in all of those ways, all of the time.
Now, there is probably hardly anybody, possibly there is nobody, who can get their head around and comprehend simultaneously moving in four different ways, in four different directions, to different places, at four different speeds, all at the same time. But whether anyone understands it or not, you are never actually located where you think that you are.
That is why, as a matter of fact you do not know where in the World you are, or where anyone or anything else actually is.
